“Nice friendly cafe with good food and reasonable prices”

All the food outlets here are no longer fit for service. The staff are surly and without any motivation, the food is poor, which given that its not only for patients and their families but also for NHS staff is shameful. The drinks machines are set to provide half a cup but charge for full cups. The only place worse is the "Retreat" at the Royal which is beyond embarrassing. This is not about providing a warm value for money good experience, its about cutting costs and profiteering Bring your own food, and even as an in patient do not eat here.

The past few times I have been to the canteen, I have received the most pitiful portions. Today I asked for a good portion, which I am happy to pay extra for. Yet I was given a 'one scoop' of curry which I ate in 5 bites. As someone who gets full with everything, this wasn't even enough as a starter. I took a look at my colleagues portion of Mac and cheese which looked to be about two tablespoons worth.

Made an honest mistake of walking in before they opened. I had been awake over 24 hours and had been sat with my disabled mum in the majors section of a+e and thought i would get myself and my mum a coffee. I was made to feel belittled by more than one cafe staff member who were not nice at all and all had something else to add to why i should have known they were closed. After the night i had i was obviously not thinking clearly and was close to tears because of the way i was spoken to. Please teach yourselves to be more compassionate, as you don't know what people are going through- although
