Great restaurant in Chichester. Clearly popular and rightly so. The place was packed, food was good overall, mainly solid brunch-style dishes, and prices were reasonable. However, 3 stars purely because of the coffee. I ordered an espresso and a flat white; my wife had a latte. Unfortunately, the espresso was badly over-extracted as a result extremely bitter, no balance, which points to staff not dialling in the coffee properly. I visited for lunch on 1st April and, while the service was fine, the Smoked Salmon Hash was a disappointment. The corn topping was significantly burnt; when I raised this, the staff suggested it was a "charcoal" effect, but it was clearly overcooked compared to the usual standard. It is a real shame as the flavours were otherwise good, but the quality control was lacking on this occasion.

Had such a lovely breakfast at Boston Tea Party today! I ordered the sweetcorn hash and it was absolutely delicious — full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and really satisfying. My sister-in-law went for the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and they looked (and tasted!) incredible too. The food was fantastic, but what really made the visit special was the service. As always, the team were warm, welcoming, and brilliantly attentive without ever being overbearing.
