Good oil for chips and fish, but the fish was a bit elastic — maybe needed a few more seconds of cooking. Not the best fish and chips. The Asian woman had terrible customer service energy — no smiles, replied like a robot, and when I asked for pepper she acted like it was an insult. Always a bit of a punt finding a decent chippy near the seaside, there is so much choice available and they all will have good reviews. A lot of the time you leave disappointed. This exceeded my expectations so much that I had to leave a review! Service was winding down for the afternoon which means I got a freshly cooked cod which made a massive difference. I used this chippy for lunch on two occasions when working near by in the area, there’s a nice park opposite with plenty of roadside parking alongside so the perfect place for a nice, peaceful spot to eat your lunch. The first time I had chips + chicken chunks + a curry sauce. The food was nice, all tasty. Served in bags, which I found a bit frustrating when trying to eat in the vehicle, especially with curry sauce! But, I get it, those polystyrene trays aren’t the best for the environment. Went there on Wednesday (27/5/16) and had a great meal. I was served by a young man on the till he was very considerate and provided me great customer service best I’ve had from any local fish and chips. Will be coming again the food was also nice the wait time was also decent due to how busy they were due to the heatwave.
