Very disappointed in this place, advertised on booking.com as 4 star.. Absolutely not! Advertised as parking available which actually means no carpark and you park on the street which is only available after 6 and before 9am. Our room was ground floor where everyone hangs around your window shouting smoking and interrupts your stay, including staff that stand there smoking right near your door! The room was ridiculously hot which can’t be helped in the weather but due to the environment you can’t leave your window open. The room has a glass door that leads to the reception with just a curtain

From the outside this hotel needs a coat of paint. It is dark grey/light grey and not very welcoming. It used to be stone/white which was much better. The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. There are a few toiletries in the bathroom. I couldn't find a hairdryer. You can hear other people in their rooms which did keep me awake for a while. But I couldn't hear the party that was going on downstairs. Beds are comfortable and clean.

Esplanade Hotel… hmm, what can I say. On one side it’s quite nice, but on the other side the place could really do with a bit of new life, both outside and inside. I was only here for a party, so I didn’t stay in the hotel, just had food and drinks, so it’s hard to give a full review. The staff were friendly, prices were okay and the location is nice. Parking can be a bit difficult, both at the back and the front. One thing I have to mention is the neighbours nearby were not very friendly, especially one woman.

I'd read the reviews and they're mostly good, so I thought I'd book. On arrival kerb appeal very low, I found a very tired and run down building , fag butts everywhere. Inside it's very tired, lady on reception was nice. The room itself carries on the theme of tired and run down. Very uninspiring, just white, no decorative bits, windows dirty, double glazing blown, more fag buts and an old can of paint on the balcony ish thing outside the window. Bedding had no protectors for mattress or pillows. Bathroom was tiny, shower pressure very low, shower cubicle was tiny, anyone bigger than m
