Came to the chippy for when it opened on a sunny Friday and had one of the most delicious fish and chips I've ever had. Lighty crispy batter on the fish, chips not soggy and they were nice and soft inside. Went great with a bit of salt and vinegar and ketchup. Also decent price

Without doubt one of the best Fish and Chips in Britain. Living in London, where a good fish supper is a rarity, I never miss a chance to visit Ernie Becketts whenever visiting friends in Cleethorpes. Fresh Flakey Haddock ensconced in a beautiful crisp batter, surrounded by chips which are cooked to perfection makes the trip from London worth the train fare.

Never had a problem from here before but my fish was off. It had a very strong ammonia smell that you could smell before we opened the box. The portion sizes are also very small. Regular fish and chips £10.95 when ordering online + extra for gravy. £30 including delivery for 2x fish, chips and sauce. Which you don’t mind paying when the food is edible

Been using Ernie Beckett's for about 30 years, every time I am in Cleethorpes. The last time the food was not up to th usual very high standards. But I thought everyone has an off day so went again today. Unfortunately this will be my last time, the batter on the fish was ridiculousy thick and hard. The others items, chips, curry and peas were fine. But fish and chips is all about the fish and there standard has fell off a cliff. Now definitely trading on the name and good will. But as with me this won't last forever. Time to look for a new chippy in Cleethorpes for my next visit.
