The Punch Bowl

We visited the Punch Bowl as a party of 7. Unfortunately whilst the food looked lovely and was well presented, one meal had a long hair in the coleslaw and it put us off. I spoke to Mandy and informed her of this but she just responded with a comment of "oh that's not very nice eughhh." There was no apology, or seeking out the manager. Very strange and poor customer service. Upon leaving I asked to speak to the manager and was met with silence. I reiterated it was not very good service and he just said sorry. Having spent a lot of money, this was appalling customer service. ****update: Thank

The food was well cooked hot and very tasty, the atmosphere peaceful and the staff very polite I complemented the chef on my food spare ribs rump steak chips and coleslaw and peas and my friends enjoyed there meal to. Gammon pineapple chips and peas And the dessert were wonderful big helpings I would definitely be eating there again and the good thing is an area is set aside for dogs so your can eat with your furry friend.

The main area was being refurbished so not sure if there is a lift for less able people to get to the function room where the party was being held so had to use the stairs. The room itself is OK, with the bar and seats at one end and a dance floor at the other. In-between these two areas were the guest tables. The service was good as was the selection of drinks. The place was also quite clean too.

I had fish and chips.. Haddock not available. My daughter and I both agreed the chips were crispy but a bit on the greasy side. Also she wasn't happy about her beetroot on the cheese tart. I had to ask for toilet roll for the disabled toilet and I noticed there was no sanitary bin. Disabled people do have need of these. But over all, this place is in a convenient place and the staff are helpful and friendly.
