We stopped by Lal Qila Restaurant on our way to Scotland and were happy to find halal food in such a far-away area. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and chicken tikka rogan, and the food was decent and satisfying. What really stood out was the excellent ambiance and how kind and welcoming the staff were. Overall, it was a great stop and much appreciated while traveling.

We ate here for the first time just over 2 years ago and went back last night while staying in the area. The food was good the first time, even better last night. Service was excellent and the staff attentive and helpful, we hardly had to wait at all and everything was piping hot, even the naan bread! Good parking access out front of in the retail park nearby as long as you don’t stay more than 4 hours Definitely recommend, Lal Qila will be our default stop for Curry when up in Newcastle.
