I had to break my Pennine Way journey at this point and had such a great experience staying here, that I returned to carry on the walk as soon as I was able. Roxanne and all of those who work here (including her lovely daughter, who showed me how to get the hotel Wi-Fi) go beyond all expectations to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The two meals I ate in the hotel were excellent: Imaginative pub food at its best. The suet rag pudding is a Diggle classic. In truth, The Diggle Hotel is more of an enormously friendly Community pub that happens to have rooms, rather than a typical hotel. M

We stayed here after a really long day on the Pennine Way. Susan gave us a warm welcome at the bar and made sure we were fed and watered despite us arriving really late - and the food was amazing!! Super tasty main courses of salmon and scampi with fresh produce was way beyond expectations this late at night. Thanks so much for making our stay such a memorable one!

Lovely food and picturesque location. Try the Rag pudding, it is top notch. Really enjoyed my visit here, the service was really good and friendly. Had a nice pint of cask ale and admired the surroundings. Lots of history and a lovely warm fire. The price of the food was reasonable as well, about £25 for two main meals and two pints. Honestly, the food was a lovely surprise. Good, homecooked comfort food, just what I was after. I will definitely be coming back here.

Excellent pub. Staff member was incredibly friendly and suggested other places to visit. Served quickly at my table and drink brought in good time. I didn't have to go inside and could pay at my table. This offers a good view looking down to Diggle and has plenty of seating.
