The pub has stood on this site since 1785. The present structure is Victorian and was purchased by brewer Henry Young in 1857 and became a tied house for Young's Brewery. Today, the pub is independently run. This is a cosy and intimate, one-bar pub that is traditionally decorated with a few modern touches. Dai Tree★★★★★Fantastic, the Old Sergeant pub on the south end of Wandsworth, close to the Wandle River is superb. Great choice of keg beers and three casks on offer. Brilliant staff to look after you. The menu, Indian and exciting and not expensive. Great place.

Jack Gallway★I had a really mixed experience at this pub. On one hand, the food was genuinely good well-prepared and enjoyable. However, what completely ruined the atmosphere for me was overhearing the manager Najak speaking to the staff. The way they were addressed felt disrespectful and uncomfortable to listen to. It honestly made me feel quite sad and uneasy, to the point where I just wanted to finish up and leave.
