Lovely weekend but hotel needs a little more love to really 'sing'. Our Superior room was tired and unclean in small areas. Thankfully those issues didn't detract from our whole experience. Staff were lovely, breakfast was good. Views were wonderful and our Afternoon Tea with Champagne was one of the best we've had!

I recently had a family member become seriously ill and I had to cancel my booking. While I fully acknowledge that I didn’t choose a refundable option, I reached out to the hotel in hopes of a gesture of goodwill or even a partial credit—something that many hotels offer in unfortunate circumstances. Instead, I was met with a blunt refusal and a lack of empathy. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, a little compassion goes a long way in hospitality. I hope the management will consider being more understanding in the future. For now, it’s a one-star experience from me.

Ok I'm biased I love a bit of Victorian/Edwardian seaside tatty grandure. The staff were fantastic. Friendly helpful, and like the place, full of character. The dining room is spectacular, double height, with chandeliers! Breakfast was good, hot buffet and fresh fruit for the contential. They let us play the piano, in the bar. The sea view over the private hotel garden and promenade was fab. The staff told us it was getting renovated, much needed, as the hall carpets were warn and the (relatively new) windows in our room were letting in a draft - seem to have failed carpets very old. Dated and needs a make over. Room wasn’t up to much , very worn down and not cleaned over a 3 night stay. Staff were lovely and helpful. Large gardens for dogs; not secure apart from the carpark entrance. Location is good for town and sea front. Shame guests have to pay car parking as an extra (as informed).
