I visited this café when it changed ownership maybe 4 years ago for a coffee and didn't enjoy my drink so didn't go back. Tried it again this weekend and unfortunately they still don't know how to make a decent Flat White. I ordered a sandwich which had a plentiful filling but the salad was tired, the crisp portion a little on the mean side and the bread 'budget' which would have been ok had it not been for the £7.00 price tag

Lovely spot for a cuppa after a walk in Hastings Reserve. We had a large pot of tea for two, which was topped up when halfway through. Cheese scones with cheese and pickle - delicious. My dog was also treated to some dog biscuits and a nice hot sausage. Well worth the visit.

The Coastguard Cafe is an absolute gem! I would not be surprised if you didn't know this place existed. It's hidden away, and that's a real shame as it is perfect for the whole family to grab a lovely meal, drink, or just a snack. A comprehensive menu is available, and I can guarantee something for everyone. The service is impeccable, the food is exceptional, the atmosphere is charming, to say the least, and the prices are very reasonable. The name "Coastguard Cafe" doesn't do it justice; I would call this a restaurant/cafe with an emphasis on the restaurant. However, you wouldn't be in the wr
