Phenomenal! One of the best experiences in England is going to a small town local pub for fish & chips. Folkestone is certainly a small town on the English Channel. This place is what you'd hope for as an American visiting Kent. The fish and chips is next level. Probably one of the top 3 I've ever had in the entire world. It's wonderful! The atmosphere is cool, especially for an American. There is a nice fireplace, great ambiance, and it feels comfortable. In England for 2 days, I had to have fish & chips For my only opportunity, just before leaving the country, I decided to go for the one The Habour Inn, and what a great choice! The fish was huge, the biggest I've ever had in a fish and chips It came with fries, lemon and sauce indeed, but also peas All looked great, and was super yummy. Honestly some of the best pub food I have ever had. I recommend the fish and chips, the chicken schnitzel, and their pies. The atmosphere is a classic old pub, it is comfortable and homey. Friendly staff and excellent service. Cannot fault.

Maybe because it was a very wet afternoon and everywhere appeared shut this was the only choice for lunch. Warm welcome from the lady behind the bar but then it went down hill. Took forever for my cup of tea to arrive, the prawns were tasteless and then the waiter, in a rush, spilt the finger bowl over us. The scotch egg was a better choice.
