Beautiful park! It is very big, with different entrances. it has playgrounds, a tennis court, a lot of areas to exercise and rest. You are able to see ducks, swans, squirrels, peacocks, chickens and rabbits every day of the week. But if you go on the weekend, I believe you can also see parrots and other kinds of birds. Sometimes there’s a little train passing and an ice cream van near the playgrounds. There’s parking available.

Saltwell Park is an absolute gem and easily one of the best parks in Gateshead. It’s beautifully maintained all year round, with wide paths, open green spaces, and plenty to see and do. Saltwell Towers is stunning and adds real character to the park, and the lake area is perfect for a relaxing walk. There’s something for everyone here — great play areas for kids, plenty of space for picnics, peaceful spots to sit and unwind, and fantastic routes for walking or jogging. The gardens are especially lovely in warmer months and are always kept in great condition.

Visited here on our way to our holiday in Tynemouth. Beautiful park, which was well maintained and tidy. Our dogs loved exploring and chasing their ball on the large grass areas. A lovely lake at the top with many ducks and geese. Even has a small zoo with Peacocks and Guinea pigs etc. The toilets in the cafe were clean and well maintained too. Only slight criticism is the car park wasn't easy to find even with my Sat Nav .
