A nice, clean and well-kept park overall, and a pleasant place to spend some time with the family. That said, a couple of things could be improved. Parking used to be free, but is now paid, which is a bit disappointing and takes away from the overall experience. The children’s play area could also do with some maintenance. One of the rope swings is hanging quite low, making it awkward for kids to use, and the ground underneath is starting to show some wear where the fixings are exposed. Gedling Country Park is one of Nottinghamshire’s most enjoyable outdoor spaces, offering a well-balanced mix of scenic walking routes, open countryside, and accessible facilities. Visited here for the first time with my reactive dog. Didn't know what to expect but essentially it seems to be a circular walk with gravel footpaths - ideal for muddy weather and I saw a few people with prams. In terms of suitability for reactive dogs - visibility isn't the best and will be worse in warmer months. The paths are wide enough for vans to drive down and there are plenty of passing places available if you need to give yourself more space. Beware some of the paths allow dogs off lead, although refreshingly everyone I passed was able to recall their dogs and put them on leads when n
