One of our go-to Japanese restaurants in the UK. The quality is consistently high and everything tastes very fresh. This time we tried their tuna bone dish (not always available) and it was amazing – extremely fresh, not fishy at all, and full of flavour 🩷 The uni is also excellent, genuinely Japanese quality. We loved the fried prawn heads, as well as the udon and tofu. The omakase is great value for money too. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially the female manager. Booking is essential as the restaurant is small, and it can feel a bit tight with kids or a pram. Definitely

Cafe Japan is an excellent spot for authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine. The quality is very legitimate, with fresh ingredients across all dishes. Beyond the sushi, the warm dishes such as the tempura don and udon were equally delicious and well-prepared. The restaurant was already very busy by 6pm on Sunday, which speaks to its popularity. I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. We will certainly be returning.

sushi is fresh and delicious. staff are super friendly. close to tokyo level but honestly have better options in london within this budget range on top of my head. maybe it is just my preference. still a really good restaurant indeed.
