Excellent place in Old Leigh with a great atmosphere and perfect location. Food Shack Italian is ideal for sitting outside, enjoying the sunshine, and watching the busy street scene. The food was fresh, tasty, and served in generous portions. Everything arrived quickly and was well presented. Staff were friendly, helpful, and worked efficiently even when it was busy. This was my first time here. We went just after Christmas during the day and it was very quiet, which is understandable. The food was good. I enjoyed the mussels that was served with rustic bread. The mussels were a good size. My friends enjoyed their salad and pasta dishes. I ordered a mojito but it was very disappointing. Which was a shame. Overall this was a good meal and I am sure at another time of year or during the evening it would be busier and have a bit more atmosphere.

Stopped by for a quick drink. Located on the main road through Leigh-on-Sea. Nice Italian/English (mostly Italian) restaurant. Not a huge place and the tables inside are a bit tightly packed but thankfully we went after the lunch time rush so were able to get a table inside because it was so hot outside, they do have seats outside on a balcony along the front though. Really beautiful look to the place, modern with a Mediterranean feel.We didn't stay to eat but the menu did look very enticing.
