I don’t even know if they serve food here. But it’s such great vibes they did. It would probably Be excellent. When you think of Camden. You think of Counterculture, diversity/equality and good vibes. This place has all three/four. With the Added ingredient of great music. This place is great A good night. As well as a great pre-game to a show at the roundhouse. Can speak of this place highly enough.

I used to come to Big Red years ago, and while people say it’s changed a lot, I haven’t noticed much besides a slightly more mainstream feel with some of the newer promotions. It may not have quite the same dive-bar vibe that everyone loved before. To be fair, I mostly came here for pool and pints rather than live bands. Last time, I stopped by early on a Sunday, and although they weren't officially open yet, the barmaid kindly let us in as they finished setting up. This was around 5:45 (I believe they open at 6). Weirdly dead when I visited. Heard about this place for years and it has an amazing feel. Back in the day must have been amazing but sadly the lack of nightlife generally amongst youth means this great venue fell flat. Service was great but this is a rock dive bar that has lost its energy. Sad times.

A bit of a hidden gem. Although it's on the main road you don't get a proper feel for the enormity of the space inside from the front of the bar. It stretches back quite a way and has ample room inside. The decor is great with loads of stuff from vintage to current Americana and it's open late to boot. The sound system is Martin Audio so sounds great especially when there are live bands playing. The food has a veggie option but everything on the menu is great and especially good for the sharing platters.
