March 7th, 17:00. I ordered a Scotch egg and Sausage. It was my first time to try a warm Scotch egg, and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The eggs were not too soft, but just the right amount of firmness. The slightly sour sauce that came with it was a perfect match. The sausage was juicy and the sauce was delicious. The pub atmosphere was pleasant, just the right amount of loud. The staff were also lovely.

Went yesterday to watch the last Arsenal game of the season. We arrived early afternoon to find all the tables had been booked for the game and naively, we hadn’t booked anything. Spoke to a very nice lady and asked if we could get a table if anyone cancelled or didn’t turn up. Not long later she came over and said a table had just become available and we could have it. Place ended up being packed but the staff were great, serving food and drinks quickly. Big thank you to everyone there

Pub located very close to Angel tube, just at the bottom of Upper St - where the Whetherspoons used to be. Known to be a good location, with plenty of footfall and a wide frontage. Decor and refurb was nicely done and going for the home from home bar look. Perhaps it's heart is in the right place, but I think this place is struggling a bit for it's identity. Decor, feel and clientele indicate a homely locals pub vibe. The cocktail menu, brass bar top and dom perignon for £278 on the drinks menu side towards trendy up-market bar. Food is absolutely fantastic. Tried the soy glazed pork belly bites and sea bream -- both excellent. Beer list is limited but cold and fresh... Brixton tasting good when I'd tried it. Was disappointed they had no cask available at the time, but the warm and inviting ambiance and prompt service made up for that. Will definitely return.
