I was a visitor to the town, my friend a local. I loved it! The staff were attentive, friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. The food? Oh goodness gracious, it was simply delicious. Clearly freshly made, and the portion was big; a feast for the eyes, and the tummy. I couldn't manage my whole plate (macaroni cheese, fries, and topped with kilted sausages). When the server came to take the plates and clearly spotted I had a good portion of my plate still untouched. Without me needing to ask, she offered to box it up; and I accepted. My wife and I dined here tonight and all I can say is wow. I am famously known amongst friends and family for being an incredibly fussy eater, I dislike practically everything. However, I could not fault a single item on my plate. The food was absolutely delicious. I can honestly say, I've never had a better meal before tonight. I will DEFINITELY be refurbing!! Absolutely superb! 10/10

Had Christmas Dinner at The Novar Bar yesterday, and thought I'd leave a review. The staff had made the bar warm and cosy. The volume of the Christmas music was just right, log fires lit on the large tv's. We had four courses; and from the starters right through to the tablet with our teas and coffees, everything was plentiful, tasty, fresh and hot. I had been at work before I came to the bar, so could empathise with the staff, despite being there though, they were professional, cheery, polite and fast. Kudos to them. Lovely pub grub, in a nice bar setting. The food served in large portions and was delicious. My lady loved the steak pie and the potatoes. I had haggis lasagne which was intriguing and very tasty, with parmesan and truffle oil chips and garlic bread. Well worth a visit we say.
