I was recommended this chippy a couple of years back and expected it to be excellent. In fairness the fish was reasonable and the service friendly but my god the chips are really awful. If I have one suggestion for the owner, please take some time, do your research and learn how to cook chips the way the British like them. These were like chewing cardboard. If you don't, you'll lose your customers and eventually your business. They'll all go elsewhere.

I fancied a quick lunch, so I grabbed a fishcake chips & beans lunchtime deal. Unfortunately the chips as usual were bland since they were barely cooked. I used to own a busy chip shop nearby and adjusted my cooking regime to unlock the flavour of the potato, combined with browning the outside to unlock the roast potato flavour on the outside. The previous owners were quite good at this & I wish they'd passed their knowledge on🤔

Im really not fussy but these chips are gross. The oil is definitely OLD! Tastes disgusting

Uncooked Cod - I bought a large cod and chips today and took it back to work. I noticed the cod on the thicker side wasn't cooked through properly. The texture of it was somewhat slimey and the batter seemed to still be runny. I have attached some photos. As there is no way to email the shop I have had to post on here in the hope that they see this review.
