29/8/25: A lovely building with very pleasant and accommodating staff. The selection of food was classic gasto-pub-grub but everyone had a tasty meal. My pork belly was very tender and portion size was extremely good value. Some thought has been given to the small vegetarian section so that was good too. There are a few classic British ales on tap and the usual continental chilled ‘light biers’ too. The sticky toffee pudding with custard is one of the best I’ve tasted in a pub! There are allegedly two ghosts that haunt the property and may be one of them enjoys playing with a drink or two;

We did Sunday lunch twice in a month as it was that good. The 7-hour Slow-Cooked Rib of Beef was fantastic as was the Lemon & Thyme Half Roast Chicken and the Lamb Shank Shepherd's Pie was my favourite. Its a great location and lovely pub, in the country with a great overflow car park We'll be back
