We had a really lovely stay here this weekend. The price was incredibly reasonable for what you get, and the hotel was very clean throughout. The bedding was comfortable, and we had a really good night’s sleep. The owners were also genuinely lovely and very accommodating, which made the stay feel welcoming and personal. The only small issue was that the emergency light in the room stayed quite bright during the night, which made the room less dark for sleeping. This was the building I stayed in last night. The building is quite old. The doors look worn and damaged, and the carpets are dirty. Fortunately, the floor in my room wasn’t carpeted. In Room 7, the shower hanger was broken, and the light switch had been pushed back into the wall. 😂 The cups and plates were dirty, and the tea and coffee sachets looked like a mix of used and unused ones. If you have a low tolerance for cleanliness or poor maintenance, I’d recommend avoiding this place. It was a very windy night, and the bathroom vent was extremely noisy. (Twin room for one night as it was the last available) Room was clean but carpet was in dire need of replacing, one of the lamps did not work (stayed on for ~2 seconds then turned off), the provided glasses were dirty and the bin had not been emptied. There were also moths, and the walls were thin enough that I could hear next door's conversation (if not the words) but the rooms were warm and all amenities including shampoo conditioner and mugs provided. Stayed recently for two nights and had a great experience. The staff at the restaurant next door were absolutely lovely and very accommodating — the food was lush! The hotel owner was just as helpful and kind, which made the stay even better. Breakfast was lovely and so peaceful, which I really appreciated. The WiFi was also great. Overall a really enjoyable stay, so thank you!
