I visited the Castle Hotel, Merthyr for Sunday Lunch carvery yesterday and again had a fantastic experience. The food was beautifully presented, with plenty of hot, tender meat and fresh vegetables. The staff are always attentive, friendly and eager to help.

Well decor wise it's very well stuck in the 1970s from when I'm guessing it was done up judging from the photos and paintings inside, everything just looked worn out, bad fitting doors tvs didnt work properly, holes in the carpets, Lack of ventilation, poor showers, on the plus side the food and service was great.

We go to the castle Hotel most Sundays the food is excellent the best around by far.Great selection of meats and plenty of it.Very accommodating with seating and spotlessly clean. Good selection of drinks and the staff are brilliant can't do enough for you.Got to try a hidden gem for food 10/10

Room smelled awful, ended up keeping my clothes in my car because I didn’t want the smell to follow me around for the rest of the trip. Also had a cluster of some sort of insect bites for days after my stay
