Sam Stone★★★★★Lovely place for bird watching. Big area with a few different length walks and impressive scenery (especially on a sunny day!) The bird hides are modern and large and wheelchair friendly with plenty of seats. Big car park with plenty of spaces. Clean toilets and a cafe with some nice looking cakes and food chips. Really enjoyed our time walking round here and will definitely be back.
elora belle★★★★★Fabulous nature reserve with 130 different birds so far this year when I visited at Easter. There are little hides where you can stop to get photos or just watch the birds. A lovely walk around with many stunning views of the juxtaposition of nature and industry. Also a nice shop and cafe serving scones, soup and lots of food options. Events were on this week too for children. Definitely worth a visit, especially for anyone who loves nature.
Andy Barks★★★★★Great place to see over 30 species of birds, staff friendly and welcoming, facilities are good. Price of food and drink a little expensive, £2.30 for a can of pop! If you need somewhere to go for a quiet walk or to clear your head go here you won't be disappointed.
Marques★★★★★Stopped by whilst walking the England Coast Path. There’s a pedestrian/cycle entrance, although annoyingly the gate is shut 20 mins before the site closes. Café had already closed but they filled up my water bottle regardless. Was able to get a Magnum from the shop downstairs too. There was no information at the building or online, but once I kept walking signage on the path suggested that those arriving on foot or by public transport are granted free entry to the reserve. Wish I had known about that before! A frequent bus stops right outside on its way between Hartlepool and Middlesbrough.
