The food was just about acceptable, but it didn’t really taste authentically Vietnamese. I ordered a banh mi and found the marinated meat to be overwhelmingly herby, with a very strong and quite overpowering aroma. The salted coffee was also far too expensive for what it was at £8. It was basically just a layer of salted cream on top, while the coffee itself was extremely bitter and harsh. In Vietnam, salted coffee is usually served iced, whereas here it was hot, which didn’t work at all. The service and staff were very good, however the flavour and pricing simply don’t match. I recently visited Nam Song and it was honestly one of the most pleasant dining experiences I’ve had. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing with good food and coffee. On my first visit I tried the Cà Ri Curry, Lemongrass Chicken, pandan cake, and their egg coffee. Everything was delicious, but the egg coffee was a real standout — rich, creamy, and beautifully balanced. On another visit I had the filter coffee and Phở Tofu. The food looked amazing at first and I was genuinely excited, but it was a big disappointment. I ordered the chicken Vietnamese noodle soup. The broth was completely bland, with no flavour at all — it honestly tasted like water. The chicken was very very chewy I took one bite and couldn’t continue it was like i eat plastic everything was stuck to my teeth im still trying to remove it from my teeth when im writing this review . Over rated, Over priced, underwhelming. Where to start, we booked and were really excited for this place, the weather is really cold and the thought of some nice hearty food was amazing. The seating area is cold, we had to cover ourselves with our jackets. We also got to sit next to someone’s dirty old fingernail. The waiting time for food was really long for what we ordered.
