We arrived not long before last orders but the staff still welcomed us warmly and didn’t make us feel rushed. It was nice and quiet, which I personally prefer, and the atmosphere felt relaxed. We visit this place quite often — almost every weekend — and usually leave satisfied, which is why today’s experience was especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the service this time was noticeably worse: the staff were not very friendly or welcoming, which immediately affected the overall impression. Also, no one asked about the preferred doneness of the steak at the counter. As for the food, the portion of fries was much smaller than usual, and they were overcooked and dry. I returned to this spot after 20 years(ish) as I used to live in the area. This place used to be an Italian restaurant and I always had a chat about motorbikes with the owner, who had a guzzi at that time. I wisited the area with my family and we weren't particularry hungry, but wanted a bite and this place was the perfect choice for that. The service was really good, all waitrsses were really helpfull, also helped with some parking questions. Food arrived in a reasonable time and to the right atandards. Really nice place.
