Hello, Last time we got cod and chips plus curry sauce, I asked for the chips to be double cooked. They were AMAZINg as was the cod! My mum who never eats chips, said they were the best chips she has ever had! Crispy, white, fleshy and juicy cod, crispy chips, lovely curry sauce, worth every penny. I feel a re- visit tonight! Don’t bother with any other chip shop, this is a cod above the rest!

Always fresh always fried for you. A very loved local with great staff, and reliably good food. Tell the staff how you like your fish fried, we usually go extra crispy to cover the going-soggy in the paper on the drive home, but ask for a box it helps. Chips are very crispy so for kids and elders maybe go hard on the vinegar or ask for a little less crispy but very good and not soggy wet chippy chips. They do meal deals and kids meals, sausages are good and halal which is a good option. Enjoy

I'm not often in the area, but I've been going here whenever possible for years. Today I was terribly disappointed to find the chips were dry, in small cuts, and tasted like they were reheated. I hope this is just a blip and the staff can turn things around. This was an institution on Oldfield Circus. I hope it can continue to keep its name in good standing. Good luck!

The cod father has always been a family favourite I’d say the last 5-6 years maybe more from the time the old owner who used to own dream cafe down at the white hart had it I forget his name. Since he has sold up or left or what ever he has gone the food has gone so down hill the last 4-5 times we’ve had issues tonight was the last straw food was terrible! The batter wasn’t cooked properly on the sausage it was dripping in fat and soggy not crispy the chips were soggy and anaemic looking. All for the price of £7 I’ve had me over for the last time codfather! We shall not be returning
