Located on the Broad Street, Kayal offers authentic cuisine from the southern Indian state of Kerala. We parked at the nearby Woolpack Lane car park. The ambience is good with outside seating options available. The staff were friendly and service prompt. The food was very good and authentic - we loved the seafood platter, Kerala porotta, seafood Biryani, prawn curry etc. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience.

Kayal is such a great spot for authentic Kerala-style Indian food 🇮🇳✨ Everything was super tasty, and it’s easy to see why the restaurant has won awards for its food. I really loved how traditional the whole dining experience felt — the plating was all beautifully done with thalis, copper plates, and steel bowls which made it feel even more authentic. We had the non-veg thali, a few seafood starters, and payasam for dessert, and honestly everything was SOOO good!

I recently visited Kayal without many expectations, but it truly turned out to be a hidden gem. The variety on the menu was incredible, with a unique selection of authentic Keralite dishes. I ordered the half Tilapia, and it was absolutely delicious and very impressive. My friends were vegetarian, so their choices were a bit limited, but they really enjoyed their Paneer and Vada dishes as well.
