Brown’s is a Covered Market institution; classic breakfasts, plenty of choice, and no attempt to overcomplicate it. I’ve been many times. It’s consistent. Full English done right. Good sausages with decent bite, solid bacon, eggs cooked as asked whether fried or poached. Beans and grilled tomato exactly as expected. With fried bread if that's your thing. Toast too. Visited Browns cafe in the indoor market this morning for our breakfast treat before Christmas shopping. We arrived about 10ish and it was very busy. We only waited a few minutes and a table became available. Table 7. It was a table for 4 and there was just 2 of us so they asked if we minded sharing the table as by then the queue had grown quite long behind us. We didn’t mind and we shared it with a single person. My wife and I had lunch here on a Saturday, and it was clearly very popular, with the café being quite busy. Despite this, we were shown to a table quickly and given menus; ordering is done at the till, which was straightforward. We ordered two cappuccinos and shared a slice of carrot cake.
