The lady at the counter seemed in a hurry to take our order and came across as sharp and unfriendly. We went to Brod to have a coffee and ordered hot cross buns to enjoy in the café. Unfortunately, the buns were dry and were simply placed on a plate with no butter or cream—really disappointing. On top of that, they charged a high price for what was essentially a glass of ice with about 100 ml of orange juice. Overall, not a good experience.

I have visited this place for the first time since they opened in Penarth and the reason I didn’t before is because of the bad impression I had from the original one in Pontcanna and we thought we should allow them some time to establish and grow out of their old problems on this Penarth location. Unfortunately I now know that that is not the case, whereas the cafe is very well decorated and put together the atmosphere is all wrong almost clerical for lack of warmth both in inside temperature as well as no warm music helping to create this just an annoying radio with pop radio station on absol

Great little bakery and cafe in the centre of Penarth. An interesting selection of breads, pastries and even pizza. The different Danish pastries are really great. Great atmosphere inside and always very clean and tidy. Lots of choice for all diets. Plenty of hot drink options to order alongside the bakery.

This is a lovely bakery and we enjoyed afternoon tea. Service cannot be faulted. The Danish pastries are authentic, and I can say that with some authority as my family are Danish and my grandfather was a Baker in Denmark. Loved the hints of Denmark, the bike, the coffee can, and the teak furniture. My only thought to make a more hygge vibe, would be to add some tealights to each table. We had a vegetarian afternoon tea, it was very generous and we went home with a doggy bag. The open sandwiches served on rye bread were really tasty, would just have loved a bit of Danish blue.
