My partner and l was in Portishead for the day when we visited Old Mill on the High Street. We entered via an doorway with welcome sign on the top. So down 2 or 3 concrete steps and up a high step into the bar are, we didn't stay very long but on exiting, my partner misjudged the depth of the step coming out , thus ended up flat on his face and receiving very bad injuries. His forehead grazed and only inches from the concrete stone steps. His nose especially is deeply cut, chin only grazed.hand and 2 fingers bruised and bloodied. One of the regulars heard him fall and helped me lifting my part

You have to come here and try the food. There is a Caribbean pop up every Wednesday evening and it’s an off shoot from the Anchor in Pill. The Jamaican Jerk Chicken is amazing and according to the owner, the recipe is authentic handed down from his grand mother. Really genuinely some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had. The food and the service was really very good and everyone was warm and friendly. Definitely a highlight of Portishead. 👍

The friendly, proactive, well mannered staff really make this place. Chloe is superb and will go far in life! Food is decent, I recommend the buffalo wings. The atmosphere is hilarious, the Saucy Griller has (suspiciously AI looking) pictures of Gorilla's in suits on the walls. The pub is a lovely old building, the aesthetic inside is surprisingly American. Not bad at all. Worth the overnight stay in Portishead! Would definitely go again.
