Ive been reviewing bars pubs restaurants on this forum for some time. This is by far the most surprising and amazing place ive been too. Yes tonight seemed quite but the place was busy with a private function and many random guests. Initially I thought maybe it was wrong night to order food but no they were brilliant. And the food amazing plate picking good if I were to do that. But finally the staff... I felt like I was the only customer in the place, polite kind attention to detail honestly I owe this place an apology for not eating or drinking here sooner. 5 star 🌟 and above dont pass

Worst bit of fish I’ve had in years. Touched it with a fork and half of it exploded as empty batter, only a couple of mouthfuls of fish, chips were nice but nowhere near worth the £19.99 for fish chips and a coffee. Would not recommend at all

I had a lovely carvery here, Sunday. The food was outstanding. Fresh choice of 4 different meats, outstanding gravy, gorgeous roast potatoes. Yorkshire puddings as big as your head! 5 different veg and amazing cauliflower cheese. The atmosphere was perfect for a Sunday. The ship and castle was totally spotless, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will be back with my family. Best Sunday lunch in a very long time.

Excellent Food & Consistent Quality! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ​I have been visiting the Ship and Castle in The Hard for years, and it never disappoints. On my last couple of visits, the food was absolutely spot on. The first time, I had the beef stew, which was incredibly flavorful and very nice. On my second visit, I went for the Sunday roast, and it was excellent—perfectly cooked and highly satisfying. ​It is a fantastic traditional pub with brilliant service and consistent quality every single time.
