I recently visited Coco's Soul Food. The service was good. The elderly gentleman upstairs was attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about the customers, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food told a very different story. The “jerk chicken” was not jerk chicken. I’m genuinely not sure what seasoning it had, but jerk it was not. It was also extremely salty, which made it difficult to enjoy. We also ordered Aunty Katie’s Trinidad-style channa and aloo. Absolutely amazing experience at Coco Soul Food, Preston. I’m a regular here and usually come in just for their mac and cheese, but this time they surprised me with an Indian-style mac and cheese and oh my god, it was fricking delicious! So flavorful, comforting, and perfectly done. A huge shoutout to Nithin, the chef, for creating such an incredible dish, and to Vamsi, who took my order and made the whole experience even better with his warm hospitality gesture. Both of them recognised me as a regular, which honestly made my day. That kind of personal touch and warmth really stands out. Am
