Two of us visited this authentic Sri Lankan place to refresh our taste buds. One of the reason I visited this place is specially to taste the Lamprais and I have to admit it’s the best Lamprais I have ever tasted in UK. For drinks we ordered two mocktails (Classic virgin mojito and Colombo Sunrise). Food, service, and atmosphere – all 5 stars. We celebrated my 40th birthday on 14th Feb 2026 and had pre-ordered food for our group. Everything was excellent, especially the BBQ pineapple with ice cream – such a unique treat. The hoppers were amazing, the best lamprais, and the king prawn curry with fresh crab fried rice was outstanding. They even made it gluten-free (no onion or garlic) and it was still full of flavour. Here’s a version focused only on the curries: --- We had a fantastic dinner at Colombo Kitchen Putney – Hopper & Kottu Bar. The curries were absolutely delicious — rich, aromatic, and full of authentic Sri Lankan flavour. Both the king prawn and pork curries were beautifully cooked and perfectly spiced, with generous portions and great depth of flavour. Friendly service and a cosy atmosphere made the meal even better. We went here for Saturday lunch. The restaurant had just opened and was empty. I was skeptical at first but when the food came, it was hands down the best Sri Lankan food I have had in a very very long time. In fact, I would dare say that this is the best food I have had in London- better than Tamil Prince, Tamil Crown and even Dishoom. The drinks could use a little more work in terms of consistency and so could the ambience. Buy new tables or get it repainted! Food wise I really can’t recommend this place enough.
