We spent a lovely few hours here on Boxing Day. Although it was insanely busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. I chose to go for their set menu option and had garlic bread, carbonara and tiramisu. We had to wait a fair amount of time for our starter but it went smoothly after that. The food was good quality and delicious. The portion sizes are very good. Going to Zizzi’s is always a solid option and we know we will have a good meal out. We will definitely go back and I would recommend eating here.

I recently visited Braintree restaurant and ordered the Vegan Rainbow Lasagne based entirely on the vibrant, colourful, clearly layered photos and description on official website and menu. The promotional images show a beautifully structured dish with distinct pink (beetroot), green (spinach), orange/yellow (butternut squash/pumpkin) layers – appetising, fresh-looking, and precisely what the “Rainbow” name promises. Decided to eat at Zizzi as it was close to a shopping outlet we visited at Easter weekend. Sadly I was not impressed by the pizzas average not that tasty and was not happy with the staff working on an open view kitchen. The female cooking the pizza had long hair thigh tied back would have preferred a hair net covering all hair. They all had on worn from waist down. Had a really lovely date night at Zizzi’s this evening. The food was outstanding — full of flavour, beautifully cooked and really well presented. Every dish we had was delicious and felt thoughtfully made. The service matched the quality of the food too. Our waiter David was friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome without being overbearing, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and special. Would definitely come back.
