Me and my partner had food here on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious. We had a spicy pizza, carbonara pasta and spicy pasta with chicken! And also a side of potato skins. We ordered to collect and everything was ready to go when we got there, food was hot, perfect amount, and decent price for everything. We have ate here for years and will continue to do so. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. My only complaint would be the music can be a little too loud sometimes but overall, fantastic food!

We were visiting Sunderland for a work event, and opted to try Aperitif. Absolutely fantastic service with such a lovely atmosphere. The food was exquisite, from their Frutti de Mare pizza, and their sublime Pasta options. The entire wait staff and even the owner himself were so friendly and helped nurture a wonderful setting for such a nice evening out. Recommend this to anyone that is looking for a place to eat in Sunderland. Can’t wait to visit again on my return back to the north east. Thank you Aperitif for your high level of excellence. When we arrived we were greeted really well and shown to our table which was in a small booth and not meant for 6 adults, we had a word and they moved us to a more suitable table. We sat down and ordered once everyone arrived at 5.50pm. We waited for 35 mins before the waitress said they only had one salmon left after taking our order, we then had to wait another 30 mins for all of our food to arrive. We went before the theatre and the service was quick. We were in and out within 1 hour. Service felt a bit rushed to begin with as we were asked multiple times if we were ready to order even though we had only been at the table a couple of mins. This is in the ideal place to grab some food before a show. Food was tasty. Portions were average (could have been better). We weren’t shown the specials board which other tables were given to view.
