I was looking forward to having the chicken and stuffing roast. Unfortunately, the stuffing was a small and overcooked ball. The roast overall was nice (but mediocre) to eat despite the swimming pool of gravy which I thought was because we ordered the side of extra gravy but this arrived at the table separately. Not sure if this is the normal service of gravy on a plate. I could only assume it was to mask some taste. The worst part was the service. Two members of staff just stood at the bar talking the entire time with us constantly having to go to the bar and ask them for service. May be b

My wife and I ordered Sunday roasts and were served very sad looking dishes. I have seen some of the pictures other people have posted and whatever they gave us looks nothing like theirs. We did come slightly past 5 pm, which means they may not have had all of the ingredients but THEY COULD HAVE TOLD US. They simply said they didn’t have any more beef roasts, so we ordered a veggie one and a chicken one. That’s it, no other warnings. By far some of the saddest roasts we’ve had. Paying £19.95 for the chicken one and about £16 for the veggie one felt outrageous. Won’t come back.

The food was decent and the service was friendly, but I wouldn't call this a pub - at least on the weekend, it's a restaurant, with two time-limited sittings for lunch (12-2 and 2-4 I think?), after which they will need your table.. It's not somewhere you could just pop into for a drink, or spend an afternoon hanging out with friends - every single table was reserved and set up for lunch service when we arrived (most of them families with young children), and tables were cleared through quickly and set up again for the next sitting. A bit of a hidden gem. Very good food, there are tables outside at the front and side. Staff are great! Popular with parents and young children, also dog friendly.
