Well.... I had heard all the rumours and seen all the queues. I had had great feedback from many friends but could not believe how absolutely brilliant this bakery was until...... Mum's 100th birthday. The service and friendly guidance by the staff was exceptional and any doubts that I had about using this service remotely ie organising from England were soon allayed. This bakery does the best scones in the town. Also good are the many traybakes, tarts and cakes. Wheaten and soda farls and sides are often still warm from the oven. Filled baps and sodas are very popular and the cafe is a very sociable place to be. Usually queued out onto the street.

Great selection, prices are very good. Scones are very nice, I had toffee and blueberry scone. Pancakes are nice and fluffy. The sausage rolls are nice too. While I haven't tried everything, I'm giving 4 stars just because the apple crumble wasn't great.
