Visited here yesterday for food and drinks. Weather was lovely. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Mix up with intolerance on meal order which I had stated twice when it was being putting through. Which ended with meal having to be sent back and recooked. Lucky enough it was rectified quickly and my son was offered a free pop while he waited.

Three of us attended for Sunday lunch, we were able to choose where we sat and ordered food and drinks with the QR code. Drinks came very quickly and we had to ask where food was after 40mins as it hadn't appeared. However the lunches arrived very quickly after enquiring. All three were very tasty and we very much enjoyed the food. It was a nice touch that you could order extra portions which one of us did. We would definitely recommend as service was good and there was a great atmosphere, thanks.

We had a lovely stay here as a family of 4 with very young infants. The building is old and a little tired but that just adds to its charm (e.g. no lift to our room on top floor - wasn't a problem for us) Upon arrival the staff couldn't do enough for us, even providing a travel cot which we had forgotten to add to our booking - they guy was up and assembling it before we'd even finished checking in! We were the first ones down for breakfast at 8am and it did not disappoint - the young lady at the bar was ever so helpful and the breakfast was grand for the price. Even a little play area for kid

The Old Colonial's beer garden has a fantastic view overlooking the sea and the promenade, with the Weston Arch in sight. It was a perfect place for a drink and a meal as the sun went down. Very easy to get to, located right by Melrose car park.
