On our holiday to Weymouth we went to the Fat Badger twice and both times the food was delicious and the service was really wonderful! Our first visit was on a Thursday so we got to try one of the delicious Pies (Chicken and Ham) and the Haddock and Chips. On second visit we had the beetroot and burrata salad and the amaaaazing cluckfest burger. The burger was honestly the best chicken burger I've ever eaten (but beware, it's huge!). The carvery was lovely however it wasn’t self serve which meant the chef dished it up in front you. The portion sizes were judged by looks, as in the man before me was a well built man (I’m a young adult slim build) was given more than double meat than me, I was given three roast potatoes all of which was small and this man was given at least 5 roast potatoes all big. The same with my family members they were all given double the meat and five roast potatoes. I didn’t like how the portion sizes varied due to the chef’s opinion yet we all pay the same. Food was alright, however may of been expecting more and was a case of could have done better at home. We had the trawler board special (we love sea food). When we received the food we questioned missing items however my wife was made to feel stupid by one of the bar man as the seabass had been switched with mussels but had not been explained to us that this was the case, just to clarify it was still being advertised on the chalk board as seabass and other items had be covered as sold out.
