Well located in the centre of Winchester and convenient for exploring the city. The hotel itself is pleasant, and the breakfast was good with plenty of self-service options. However, the rooms feel dated and are in need of refurbishment, which makes the room rates hard to justify. There is no air conditioning, although fans are provided. Charging £15 per night for parking also seems excessive given the already high room rates. Overall, you’re paying mainly for the location. I wouldn’t stay again at the current pricing.

Fantastic, there is no aircon, but fans supplied, we stayed on a very hot day, the room was stifling, so asked if we could move rooms, and the lovely lady on reception moved us to another cooler room not facing the sun..thank you. Rooms are nice and clean. Great for a weekend stay or longer.

Very nice Hotel. Quaint room. Good TVs...we had two synced to each other in lounge to bedroom area. Convenient phone charging pad. Nice garden view. (See photo) Great breakfast nicely presented. I particularly like the hot plate cupboard....nothing worse than a cold plate with fried eggs. I would/will definitely stay again .

Nestled around the backstreet in a glorious old building , the Winchester Royal Hotel is truly fine way to experience your stay in the City. Whist it is not clear what warrants a feature room and it certainly does not match the marketing images. I can only assume feature rooms are in the original building and have slightly more authentic decor. We stayed in a feature room, which was large and airy, but no garden view and small bathroom. And also had some dubious plastic blue chandeliers! WiFi was not great and there are no lifts. All said and done, despite being a little disappointed with th
