When giving reviews I always try to stay positive and often avoid negative reviews, but I felt this establishment was very disappointing. Start with the positive, staff very nice and enjoyed the beers. Negative: 12.8% service charge added which was only mentioned in the very tiny writing on the bottom of the menu which I've attached, which is done so nobody reads it. I didn't notice until after I paid and was leaving for the taxi. Food was overcooked which spoilt the ribs and steak, both very dry and lacking flavour. Sunday roast was delicious but not faultless. Positives; delicious pork perfectly cooked, excellent veg especially the red cabbage and cauliflower cheese, good yorkie, and rich gravy! Negatives; beef was overcooked for my liking but still had a pleasant taste, roasties were dry and mealy even with gravy. Would definitely return for the pork and to try their smoked meats !

Service and atmosphere were amazing. The staff accommodated our large group and kept the rhythm of the food just right throughout the evening. Great selection of beer available and the bar was efficient, meaning you did not have to wait long to be served. Food was good overall but let down by the roasted spuds which felt like they had been under the hot light a while and were slightly burnt. But the rest of the roast was really tasty and my beef was cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed this place and I will definitely go back.
