We have recently become regulars here because we absolutely love the food—the home-cooked chips are a standout, and the meals are always delicious. Up until recently, the service has been wonderful, which makes writing this review incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, we won't be returning due to the behavior of a staff member (a young girl with black hair). During our last few visits, she has consistently made us feel like an inconvenience. Lovely food, saw the pie advertised on facebook thought i’d give it a try and it was exceptional… 10/10…Only thing to note is that i saw a cook come from the kitchen wearing a bobble hat, very unhygienic in a kitchen with the fibers and sweat. traditional cook hat is much more health and safety friendly. EDIT** Popped in yesterday, thought i’d give the breakfast a try…EXCELLENT!…10/10…Lovely young girl serving me and my wife, very polite and happy! Ive visited the priory cafe on many occassions and have always been satified with the food and service but unfortunatly on my recent visit along with a friend ended with us having to leave after waiting over an hour for a cooked breakfast. I appreciate it was busy and you do make allowances for such occasions but they seemed to make food for deliveries whilst making customers sit and wait for theirs, one of the cooks wept outside twice for a cigarette and other members of staff were just mulling around in outside clothing (jackets) trying to look busy, very unhygenic.
