I was quietly impressed with my first time lunch visit here. The premise is well decorated and has some fantastic veiws of the rolling countryside from the restaurant. My food from the reasonable menu was also good (one of best burgers i have ever had). All served by some excellent attentive staff. As my visit was in February, i wasn't tempted to sit outside, but there are tables outside for the warmer months. There is also a coffee shop withing the building, which looked equally lovely. The venue is a bit out of the way and you'd need to know where it is to visit, you're not likely to stumble

Had The Trough breakfast and avocado on toast with poached egg and bacon , 2 coffees £55 ! My son paid , but got caught out by the ‘option’ £5 service charged on the bill . Yes , the service was ok , but not worth £5 for the time we were there. So watch out for that ! I asked for hard poached egg , which was the smallest egg I’ve ever had , and it was still runny for my liking . My son ate it , so I didn’t complain ! The bacon ( which cost me £3 extra , for 2 rashers ) was dry and obviously not cooked fresh . I expect for the price we paid for our meals for the bacon to be cooked fresh. Coffe
