This was the perfect coffee stop while walking the city wall of York! Such a unique location, inside the tower. There is plenty of comfortable seating indoors (with games), as well as a couple of interesting seating areas outside on the wall with great views. The espresso drinks were fantastic (we ordered a cappuccino and a dirty chai) and the scones (with cream and jam) were served warm and were perfectly soft and rich.

Climbed up for afternoon tea and it was well worth it. It advertises itself as a coffee shop but the tea was superb. Loose leaf first pick tips in very serviceable pots. The best I've ever had. And the location is great although the aerial views of Waitrose and dual carriageways could be better😀

Spread across 3 floors above Walmgate Bar, the 14th century extension to the city walls. An historic, stone interior, nicely curated to serve coffee and pastries in a variety of comfotable settings. More seating on the 2nd floor, but most entertainingly, check out the roof terrace.
