It has been a long time since I last ate a meal that made me so joyous. Each dish made me crooning in delight. Ilham took our orders and made helpful suggestions about what dishes would appeal to us--wow! was he spot on. To start, we had the potato bolani and manto. The Balani was served with a chutney that was more liquid than a chutney I am used to but packed with flavor and perfect pairing with the crunchy flatbread. The Manto was so good we were scraping the bowl after devouring the ground meat dumplings. For the main dishes my partner and two friends chose: Burani Banjan, Chicken Achar

I was in town for a conference and was looking for something I wouldn't normally see back in Oklahoma. To what do my wondering eyes appear? Afghan Kabob House on Google maps. 5 minutes walk from the train with only a 40 minutes layover meant we lucked out that they had fresh made Qabuli Palows. Perfectly cooked rice topped with a generous portion of lamb served with a well balanced flavor spicy sauce.

Wow incredible. If you ever find yourself in Albuquerque this is the place to go. I got the Eggplant dish which was delicious - probably the best eggplant I’ve ever had. And my partner got the lamb kebab which was cooked very well. The flavors were robust and complemented wonderfully. Also great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I’m so glad we stopped here on our way through New Mexico!
