Cañón 49

“Great service and atmosphere though!”

This is my last semester at gcu and I had yet to try canon 49. I was really looking forward to it be left extremely disappointed. The food was good for the price however the service was absolutely terrible. Our server was covering the entire restaurant while 3 other servers were sitting around on their phones with headphones on. What should have been an easy half hour lunch ended with us waiting for 20 min just to get our bill.

Went here to meet my twins, who attend GCU, for lunch. We had been there previously on orientation day and had a good experience. I arrived around 12 PM and was seated quickly. Right after being seated, the waitress assigned to our table was there filling our water cups and asked if I wanted a beverage while I was waiting. Nice, as I literally just sat down and was already being attended to. Told her I was waiting for my kids, and I would wait until they got here. Kids arrived, we looked over the menu and placed our orders. Classic Burger with tots; Mixed Green Salad with side of Tots; and

The people are very very nice. I’ve eaten here many times and have been disappointed many times. The only thing I recommend is the cheeseburger w/ fries, which has been better than average. The salmon was dry and almost tasteless. Pizza is hit and miss. I love the people and atmosphere but they need to up their game on the food.

Problems are as follows. Lack of server professionalism, under cooked under seasoned basic food with bland flavors. And overall just feels like a GCU simulation and a money grab
