Great family restaurant. There staff was really sweet to our family. From the moment we walk into their restaurant. We notice their smiles and the politeness. We like how clean the restaurant was. The waitress we had was great at her attention to detail. After serving the food, she came back with a quick check-in. You could tell she's been working for us and had super experience. She thank us when we were leaving. And it had nothing to do with the tip. It was more of the conversation. And it was our first time, yet it will not be our last.👍 Great place to eat.

Ankeny Diner is a reproduction of a diner attached to the Wyndham hotel. The interior has a lot of chrome, neon, and Naugahyde that gives it a movie diner feel. It was very clean and shiny. The menu had standard comfort food: burgers, salads, cold and hot sandwiches, and a lot of desserts. I enjoyed the chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. My wife had a veggie burger, which was satisfying, although not as yummy as some restaurants.
