Josef’s Gyros & Kabobs is hands down one of the best hidden gems in the Fox Valley. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made to order. The gyros are absolutely massive — I swear the large gyro is as big as your head. You definitely get your money’s worth. Service is quick and friendly, even when they’re busy, which says a lot for such a small shop. It’s more of a grab-and-go spot, but that just adds to the experience. If you’re in the Appleton area and craving Mediterranean food, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Josef's was a surprising delight! We decided to go here with our 10-year-old son to get some gyros and see what it was all about and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is a very small portion of a building in an alley behind college avenue, but there's a decent amount of parking, at least, but don't plan to put in a lot on the meter because there's zero room for dining in the restaurant itself. You go in, you order at the counter and they prep the food right there while you can wait on a long bench for your food. They do offer beverages, but it's mostly just cans of soda/sparkling water

We moved here from SE Wisconsin and usually the more north we go, the less gyros we see. Couldn't find any in Staples MN. Been craving really good Gyro meat lately and in all honesty, I found it here! Nick had the Gyro, big of course and I had the salad with the meat. Not only was the meat delicious but the tomatoes were firm and sweet like none I've tasted before! Cucs were firm with not a spot on them! Trust me, I'm picky. This was the best experience in the area yet for Gyros, awesome job!
