This was my first time at Mateo’s Cafe. It was excellent! I read the reviews before making my decision and I agree with the previous reviews; large portions, delicious, and something for everyone. We arrived on a Sunday around 12. It wasn’t too busy and we ate within 15 minutes of ordering. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered a Chicken Melt (YUM) with fries; 10/10. My sister had a Tuscan Panini with chicken and rice soup; (7/10). My mom ordered an omelette with potatoes, biscuits and gravy. (8/10). Recommended by a local when we were in town. Wow. The food was great and the service was amazing! We got there early enough to beat the crowd and they accommodated us quickly. The food was delicious and creative (the French toast especially). It got really crowded, but still 5 stars because they can’t help if they’re delicious! See you next time we’re in Appleton!

Read the reviews and decided this was the spot to try breakfast in Appleton. Mateo’s does not disappoint and you won’t leave hungry! The restaurant itself is clean and bright. The service was good. The food is delicious! We had a Denver omelette, stuffed French toast and eggs Benedict. Warning-the French toast is served with nuts but the presentation is amazing; I should have taken a picture to share. Enjoy! Recommend and will return.

If you’re not ready to wait a little bit or looking for a large restaurant, then this isn’t the place. However, if you’re looking for a great brunch and a LOT of it, it doesn’t get better in the Fox Valley. Holy geez! My wife had leftovers for dinner and the next day’s breakfast! I’ve never seen such a mound! Wish they had mimosas on a weekend, but the service is great, the portions are nuts, and the food is excellent!
